Im wondering how sensor methods for agriculture (like manned fixed wing) are done. The farmers and ranchers typically want to see things like temperature and water content in dirt.
I know theres hyperspectral type systems out there, but do these cameras have calibration or pass band filters mechanically moved in placed?
how effective are uncooled thermal cameras? it seems like cooling is all the military uses, and the Sidewinder wont even work without Argon, though the newer 9X has all-electric peltiers.
EDIT: it looks like some can be done through nuemeric manipulation of simple pics...
