Hi all.
There is an ongoing discussion on various channels about D-Wave's QC setup and if it can be scaled.
Seems not, as it turns out my hypothesis about solar axion flux interfering with the qubits by adding too much noise and inducing decoherence was indeed correct.
I've sent emails to them and so far no response which leads me to believe that they have indeed observed axions but are not publishing this until the 512 qubit system has been tested and found not to work as expected.
Also relevant, the limitation described also applies to other potential QC systems such as the N ion in diamond based ones as these would also be sensitive to quantum level perturbations by axions through a different mechanism.

D-Wave still does not have a "quantum computer" even with Google's money. The early API (IIRC around 2002) very clearly stated the transforms are only stable for around 20 to 30 seconds, and that the compiled form is seriously suboptimal under certain circumstances. These do not work to solve most types of problems, and cannot be considered a generalized computing device....
This is not the CPU you are looking for... However, these do work for specific types of problems in vector form.

Also, it seems that I might have accidentally opened Pandora's Box, have evidence here that some of my work could possibly have attracted the interest of some folks in the States.
The D-Wave system still has value as it could be used to design better systems by throwing different configurations at the problem and see what improves stability. A lot of money and reputations are involved in the work so far which explains at least some of the contradictions in published papers.
