How hard were your PIDs to get right?

And do we go low rpm with steep pitch? When we want to do heavier lift? Ps. I'm tipsy atm.

And the problem with that is? :)
I've had some of my most profound ideas while under the influence, same with many famous artists and writers.
Victor Hugo (of Guernsey fame) was rumored to enjoy absinthe on occasion and "Les Miserables" was written at about the same time.

Patrick, I've just realised while watching that video that the losses associated with this hexacopter configuration are a lot less than might be expected with a multi-rotor machine.

The six rotors here effectively simulate one large prop to a certain degree. What I mean is, if you remember when we discussed losses, most of the losses occur at the interface of the fast moving air under the prop and the static air surrounding it. Now, when the props are arranged in the hex configuration here, they effectively approximate to one large prop, producing a column of moving air much larger than each of the props, and roughly equivalent to the total area under all six props.

While there will be some other losses due to turbulence, etc, if multiple rotors are configured to effectively produce one large column of moving air, losses will be significanly reduced compared to the case where they are arranged far apart from each other, and effectively producing several smaller columns of air, if that makes any sense.

Thet's a pretty impressive machine, Dr Spark.

Resonant drive maybe? ie phase lock the props so that they effectively align like the old tiltrotors?
Ought to work.
