I just had a thought, isn't it a bit odd how they provide UCCs in an MSOP8 package? UCCs are going to be driving something relatively large with their specifications, so space shouldn't be an issue should it?
Although I guess you can use them for a number of things not just driving large FETs...

As a uttered perfboarder I curse all that: why couldn't they make DIP's with pad or just put them in TO220..
IXDD414's are hard to get..
Few times I tried, I never made a decent board for SMD except by hand with letraset, wich looks Very good while being huge pain to transfer on the board with just few small components..
If I needed I would probably make a board for these that way..

TO220 version anyone?
Sink is ground so I can save 1 wire when I screw it on the Vregs' heatsink. Though these things have some benefits, I really think I wont use them in a SSTC because they are way to hard to make/replace.
