A little VTTC/plasma torch with a 6П14П pentode, build on a 3D printed frame. (What is the right name for such a device? It's not exactly a tesla coil, lacking a secondary or any transformer action at all).
I called it o_O for it's appearance.
Bottom:
Schematic: The 3D printer file for the base (sized for a soviet tube socket): ]vttc.zip[/file] The choke coil is 75 turns, the main coil is 20 turns. The little coil in the feedback turn does not seem to matter, i was just experimenting. Not shown on the schematic is the input capacitor and heater wires.
The thing in action, lighting up a CFL tube.
The streamer is tiny, but is as hot as a laser sword, cutting through anything non-conductive. Gas tubes light up much better when it's not burning, however.

looking at your circuit diagram, is it the 24uH and Coc that determines the operating frequency? does it start by itself or does it ned some 'help' ?
If you do a MkII version you could consider winding the 24uH with spacing between the turns (a space equal to the wire diameter is adequate, you could wind two wires then remove one, or use nylon fishing line between turns) this would increase the 'Q' of the coil and less heat would be generated ('proximity effect' causing only part of the wire to be used)

Here is a sim for that kind of a device: Huge link You can play with the values.
The feedback capacitance (Coc) determines nothing, except how reliable it will start or something. The frequency is basically determined by the value of the main coil, one that is 24uH.

Starts by itself, no help needed. The streamer needs a touch to ignite, however.

Heat in the tube? I might try that some day.

Yet, it is absolutely silent. I thought a plasma tweeter is something like that - ?

I imagine the frequency is above 20kHz, so is therefore above hearing range. While I don't know much about plasma tweeters, I assume one way to do it would be to modulate the power at audible frequencies in order to get the sound.
