Planning ahead for nuclear disaster I have 50g of chemically pure KI
dumb buy ! I doubt Iodine isotopes will be a major threat in UK
Is there anything scientifically interesting that I can use it for?
e.g. photo/electro/soniccrystal something?

You could make elemental Iodine.

I love the sublimation of elemental iodine
but NI3 too tempting

caused trouble as a kid and later as an uncle!

if something like a bombed NATO or anything can even happen, I'd keep some in a ziplock just in case ;) you're just 30min away from Belgium ^^
