I finally found a ferrite core available locally. And i recently bought a 2 KG spool of 34 AWG wire so i am going to use it.
Here is the core i found. Link2
Quite the beast i think? I will buy two. And arrange the two I onto one U as to make a large U and a small U. I should have about 25 centimeters of winding length. I will wind 23 Cm of them. Which gives about 1440 turns. Single layer :) I will wind it on a PVC pipe just like a tesla coil. The primary will be 3+3 turns. Hooked up to my IGBT ZVS driver fed straight by the mains. I get about 320VDC out of the rectifier and filter.. Meaning i should have 76800 volts at the secondary. (Not taking into account resonant rise , The fact that i might include a series resonant capacitor on the secondary and all the other stuff)
It will be submerged in oil Ofcourse :P. I am thinking about epoxy coating the secondary. Ideas?
Thoughts? Ideas? Mmm?

Since you have over 6 miles of wire I guess you'll have some spare,
I'd use several 34awg strands in parallel (like 'Litz' wire) for the primary,
number of parallel strands in primary = Ns/Np

I doubt that you will be able to insulate 76.8 kV at 10's kHz,
Could you use two secondaries arranged as 38-0-38 kV?
(even this will be difficult to reliably insulate)

Could you use an even lower voltage secondary with a voltage multiplier?

I would decide what uses I may have for such a finished transformer, e.g.

C-W multiplier (choose voltage to match available diodes and caps)

Marx Generator (capacitor voltage)

Supply for sgtc (primary capacitor voltage)

e.h.t. bench power supply

etc. etc. ........

It will be a single layer. Under oil , epoxy coated. And i will design it to be a Bench power supply , Yes. Reliability is important. That's why i picked the ZVS driver. As it barely heats even when switching 1000 watts+ And i never blew a mosfet or igbt with it

And i need AC. If i ever need DC i would probably use a string of 100 UF4007

I want to do all the experiments that one can do with an X-Ray transformer. But since over here. Even the dental X-Ray used head costs more than the entire cost of the transformer. So i though a DIY approach would be more appropriate.

A Well made IGBT Fullbridge is a lot more reliable then a ZVS driver as far as i know.

Well. A SSTC's fullbridge blew lots of mosfets. My ZVS NEVER blew a single mosfet or IGBT

Have you actually run a 'zvs' from 320 Vdc?
I've had problems doing so.

You need to think about the gate drive circuitry
due to the high dv/dt at the collector
turning on the transistor that should be off via the collector-gate capacitance.
(I think that's the problem)
A separate gate drive circuit may be required, not the usual resistor & zener.

I can get good 35W resistors XD.
See this. Link2
His voltage i could find. But 60 extra volts could not do bad right?

I can guess that full (Or half) bridge driver would be horribly similar to steve's SSTC 5? But of course with a different drive circuit?

Have you considered at what frequency this secondary coil will resonate with its own parasitic capacitance?
