There's all sorts of things you can do with 300J energy. It looks too big to be an electrolytic, and there don't seem to be any polarising marks on/near the terminals, so it looks like it doesn't need the same level of protection against reverse charge that a 'lytic would, if discharged into a coil. Reverse charge after discharge will shorten its life, but it doesn't sound like you are sufficiently emotionally attached to it for that to be an issue.
If it's a DC link cap, it won't deliver a short enough pulse to be any good for can crushing. A disk launcher or rail gun would definitely be on, with the former being infinitely cheaper in terms of time and resources to get something going. Wire vapourising is easy too.
Wind a few turns of heavy, insulated wire into a pancake coil, rest an alli disc (HD platter) on top, and discharge 1400v into it. Loud bang, dent in ceiling or broken light bulb, demonstration of principle, not too much time expended, and you can now relegate it to a door stop.
1400v is just a nice voltage to get from a bipolar pair of doublers, direct from mains, so with a couple of 1000v caps and four 1N4007s, you've got the charger.

Make a Z pinch, or dense plasma focus (DPF), 300J ought to be enough for a basic experiment. Won't do much fusion but should be enough to implode a few wires...

Both those things seem a bit expencive for me, also, i do not have any proper vacuum equipment.

I have an identical one to this that I used a few years ago for a small induction coilgun. Mine had no issues with pulse duty, and they have a very low ESL. This exact model isn't listed in the datasheet (http://www.ecicaps.com/pdf/capacitors/ul9-series-dc-link-filter-capacitor.pdf), but you can see from other models in the UL9 series they carry some pretty extreme peak current ratings.
