Probably a dumb question, but what usage could the pulse from a marx generator be put to?

Pulse testing of transmission line equipment (simulating lightning), flash x-ray, EMP (feeding the HV impulse into any kind of high power oscillator like vircator, magnetron etc) , feeding an impulse gas laser etc. come into my mind.
Or just for fun wink

And this list of applications from a Marx gen rental company:

Generation of high-power microwave using virtual cathode oscillator devices
Lightning testing on cables and insulators at 1.2/50 ms and 8/20 ms
Material and dielectric testing
Breaking of raw diamonds in mineralogy
High voltage and magnetic pulser
High repetition rate high power CO2 lasers
Generating EMP on parallel plate transmission lines
Bridge wire exploding
Electron injection into nuclear reactors
Electron accelerators
Kilo amp linear accelerators
Current injection and generation
Radiation generator for high voltage steep pulser
Flash x-ray generation
Pulsed electron generation
Short duration luminous flash for ultra high speed photography
Firing boxes for pyrotechnic substance reliability testing
Exploding unattended munitions
Nuclear electromagnetic pulse generator
Generation of plasma focusing
Generation of axial plasma for injection purposes
Remote de-programming of processors used in computers and other control circuitry
Educational demonstration of electrical pyrotechnics, etc.

Rental charge for the 800KV @ 3200 JOULES model is $4000.00 for 60 days.

I'd not have called "Information Unlimited" a Marx gen rental company. I suppose it's technically true.

Now let's all play spot the mistakes in the list.

I have no brief one way or the other for Information Unlimited, but accepted its claim to rent out Marx generators in good faith. If you have some evidence that this claim is fraudulent, then you should say so.

As for its list of Marx generator applications, it looks plausible to me, though I have no special knowledge in this area. Which items in particular in the list do you identify as 'mistakes'?

@Azaroth
You could make instant wire, have a 5kv 1000uf cap charged and discharge it through a marx pulse.
