Hey all
During the Christmas holidays I had some time to work on the MMC calculator and add some more features, I welcome all constructive feedback with suggestions to new features, mistakes, calculation errors etc.
If there is a certain capacitor that you would like to have added, please send me as much information about it as possible so I do not have to dig it all up. I am working on the Wima FKP1 capacitors.
I also made a list of good capacitors with all the ratings that are used in the calculator and have their respective data sheet locally available.
MMC calculator:
List of good MMC capacitors:
[Changelog] V1.1 added features: Drop down menu with 7 different capacitors with specifications for 100kHz and drop down menu with small, medium and large DRSSTC examples. Inputs: Basic Price per capacitor Advanced specific dissipation factor Calculates: Basic Total MMC price Advanced Energy (single cap) Power dissipation (single cap) Temperature rise (single cap)
V1.0 features: 942C20P15K-F example and medium DRSSTC example. Inputs: Basic Capacitance Voltage rating Capacitors in series Strings in parallel Advanced Peak current rating RMS current rating dV/dt rating ESR rating Tesla coil Frequency Primary inductance Primary peak current On time BPS Calculates: Basic MMC voltage rating MMC capacitance Total capacitors Advanced Primary impedance MMC Xc (reactance) MMC Zc (impedance) Voltage over MMC RMS current MMC dV/dt for MMC Peak current for MMC

Thanks Ioneoceans :)
I added a Wima FKP1 0.1uF 1000VDC capacitor to the calculator and good capacitor table.
I also added some of the calculations that can come in very handy to derive some of those values not given or very rarely given in data sheets for film/foil/metallized capacitors. How to derive Ipeak, ESR and thermal resistance for temperature rise calculations added:
