Hello everyone!

I work for a TV production company, and we're hoping to find some homegrown builder/maker/engineer/inventor/hacker types - working either alone or in a group for some shows we hope to develop. We are looking for people who are lively, outgoing, outspoken, unique, and not afraid of being on camera (of course).

We're looking for two different things at the moment:

1. Young hackers – between the ages of 18-24

2. People whose inventions/builds are on the wacky/silly side. Do the things you make have a sense of humor? Do you appreciate the nonsensical, pulling pranks, surprising people?

If DIY building/inventing is your hobby and passion, or if your creations are really cool/unique/off the beaten path, or if you have a big personality and think outside the box, then we would love to hear from you. Shoot me an e-mail at **link** or **link** with this info:

+ your name, age, location

+ a brief bio or description of you and what you do

+ video or photos of your and your projects

Thank you so much, and I look forward to hearing from you!!

Please pardon me for being a bit on the hyper-sensitive side,

But I am an engineer who is always being taken advantage of by people who make lots of money. So from my point of view, if you are to do production shows, whomever you are seeking should at the very least, understand that you will be making money from this person's efforts, and maybe even mocking them, and potentially doing harm to their present/future reputation.

I am posting this for the readers of the thread to consider, and as a reminder that paperwork should be in order to protect both parties from a misunderstanding. I am in a situation like this right now, and have been in the past, and it's not a lot of fun.

Matt; Thanks for sharing your experience.
Sage advice for anyone who might be blinded by the glimmer of opportunity.

4hv is a great assemblage of talented individuals. As one of the older members, I'm regularly stunned by the brilliance exhibited from the youth here.

Hi everyone,

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to e-mail me at **link** or **link**.

We're just looking to talk to people right now for ideas that are very preliminary.

I understand why people are hesitant, but we simply want to find untapped talent that no one else has discovered. There's no risk to sending a quick e-mail if you're interested, I promise!

My first thought was, you must be on the wrong forum ;)

we simply want to find untapped talent that no one else has discovered.

Engineering idols? The next super inventor?

Honestly, I think this is the wrong crowd to search through for mindless attention whoring like that seen on "reality" tv.

But if someone should get some air time for crazyness, I think it should be zilipopper!

Finding an engineering idol or a super inventor would be perfect...and if they're crazy, that's even better. :)
