Hello, i know it's a long shot, but any one from here are related to Hamamatsu ? This fall i am going to start my master degree studies, and to be successful i need to get one photo detector from Hamamatsu, but since it's not very profit orientated, and i need single unit, Hamamatsu will not provide me with that detector. (even to buy, not just samples)
I am wondering if someone from here can help me with that ? item in question is S11107 or

It would be very slow, i need 120Kfps from single line, or more (maybe you still have optical assembly ? that would be useful)
(200KHz is sweet spot, problem is with second option i will need to process 6.6Gbps data stream in real time for PID controller, that sounds like fun )

no, it will be very slow, and it possibly will have large pixel count with single readout. Where is no question, i need one of two in the given link, unless some one show detector capable more than 110KFPS, else it's not a question for discussion.

The number of pixels does not have to be very important, you can often read off the number you need and start the next frame.
How many pixels do you need, is it possible to make it work with a 5 MHz sensor that is quite common and very cheap? Does it matter if you have to overclock it as long as it still works?

No, since many of them use charge shift registers, overclocking will degrade performance, also you must clock out all pixels from shift register, otherwise you will add to frames with shift, so that is not an option for me, i tried that , All i need is to have in 1cm distance 64 or more pixels, because working with 32 or less will give big error, and will be sensitive to noise.

First option (S11107) is less than 20EUR, but i don't going to use lot of them, so they don't supply, no profit in that. Second one should be very expensive, but university would coverup that cost.
