Okay I am building a midi interrupted sstc and decided to etch my own board i've just finished the board layout and want your opinion/improvements on it

1. There are no bypass capacitors on any of the ICs. A 0.1uF should be provided directly across the VCC / GND of each IC.

2. For power coming onto the board, there should be a bulk storage capacitor for power. This is generally sized about 10x the total bypass capacitance you have on the board. (General guideline)

The schmatic is steve wards mini sstc but with the 555 interrupter replaced by a polyphonic pic interrputer

okay i've updated the board by putting bypass caps but the power will filtered on another board. also i changed the 74hc14 dip to a SN74HCT14DRG3 soic because that's all i could get ahold of.

You still want to have a small reservoir capacitor on your target board.
A 100uF-1000uF would probably be good.
Its good practice, especially if there are long wires between the two boards.
