I am looking at using some 5mm copper tubing for my primary and was wondering if was ok to use 2 lengths of 15 meters piping as it works out to be $30 vs $95 for a 25 meter length.

Cheers in advance for any advice
Jason

Assuming that you have the ability to solder/clamp/join the two pieces together, the only 'downside' is cosmetics.
How many Watts will you be using? .. 5mm o.d. may overheat above a few hundred watts.

I am using a 12kv, 30ma NST the longest it will run would be 30 to 60 seconds.

I was thinking about using an insert and soldering them together and placing a small bit of heat shrink over it or a little bit of copper paint to try and make it look better.

Absolutely. The easiest way to do this is take a piece of wire that fits inside the tube, or similar, and use to splice the two copper tubes together and then solder together.

I'm just curious why 30 meters of piping cost only $30.00 vs $95.00 for a 25 meter length?

Copper is generally sold by the weight.

The stores I tried said they could get 15 meters lengths easy but 25 meters are hard to find and they are charged a lot more. Seems like b/s to me but i am happy to get 2 lengths
