Two aeronautics students planned to use remote-controlled model planes packed with explosives to carry out terrorist attacks in Germany, according to prosecutors.

yeah we were talking about this case at the RC shop and in engineering class. sooner or later it wont be a laffable half assed attack, remember the suicide attempt into the Eiffel tower, the western pilot refused to bonsai in, when ordered to by the arab terrorist. it was then the al-quaeda types relised they would need to pilot the suicide machines themselves, and the crazy 9-11 plot was hatched...

the Rezwan Ferdaus idiot, was going to use an F-86 and F-4 to send dozens of pounds of explosives into the pentagon, the article also mentions this case.

sooner or later some jack ass will do it successfully, you wait and see.

FFS.
No wonder all my mail is being delayed, maybe the Feds /GCHQ/etc think I'm building a "physics package"..
EDIT: My graphite finally showed up, you guessed it "Opened by xxx" ... !
AND the highly trained monkeys managed to break one of the pieces too.
Oh well, have two intact ones so not a total loss.

the NSA is going to be even more paranoid given the "unrestricted right of observance" (there bogus claim), so much so, that putting sugar in your coffee will mean you've taken an affirmative step towards the construction of a radiologic weapon of mass destruction...

paranoia propels itself, humanity has seen this before with the NKVD, SS, Stasi and so on...

The failure of most Fascist regimes is predicated on their own misinformation.
Without a thug cast to discern state propaganda from reality it is impossible to retain control.

Considering 70% of worldwide email traffic is Spam, I doubt the NSA has used the program for anything other than plausible denial of a violation in probable cause. Again, there is no justification for usurping the power of a 250 year old explicitly defined social contract to remove accountability of those entrusted with governmental duties.

As for diseased philosophies, the children of murderers killing children of murderers is never a form of civilized justice. At one time even the CIA was concerned with a Moral High Ground, but now even China gets to point out the hypocrisy of 'American Freedoms'. However, the indignation of the current administration over their own actions is truly disturbing.

I'd wager Lincoln would be upset...

this is an excellent point.

ive wondered if "data mining" has signal-to-noise problems? the useless garbage on the net may make it hard for advertisers and corporations much less the NSA people to learn anything worth there effort.

one could envision more sophisticated bots that email large volumes of bogus data to other bots, just to raise the data mining effort to be great, while the result is nearly worthless.

This isn't really news, the amount of enemies the USA has made, will see more of this, It might not be RC planes, but Middle East insurgents, standing on street comers...Your government is using old tactics for a new warfare,
