hi coilers:)
I present to you indestructible armored tesla coil;DDDDDDDDDDDDD
scheme is so simple that almost no details
in conventional spools of this type are ballast current limiters
here it is not present and the weak transistors without breaker for long duration totally annihilate;D
however, this only works reel interrupter;)

just now
I'm just starting to build this type of coil, and so I want to get 150-300cm streamer
I use a semiconductor FGH60N60SMD

coil while it can operate from 170- 190VAC to do if it breaks above the primary winding

You are quite simply amazing when it comes to electronics, all your circuits are original and never really seen before.

I really wish i could get round to building some stuff... just saving up for a func gen and a oscilliscope

Another original and great design !
You are amazing, Mr Megavolt Wizard wink

Could you please post some pics of the assembly showing components and coils ?

Hi, zilipoper

Is there any-chance of getting some of the component values that are not present in the schematic?

Regards,

Pulse duration to put at least for the weak transistors

Hi dude, your 1st circuit reminds me what I was trying about 10 years ago! Here's my single FET SSTC
http://rayer.g6.cz/teslatr/sstce.htm#FETTC
But in my case I used feedback coil and it didn't work well. I would fear about FET and zeneres by this rude base feed but you made it. Results are really impresive! I think this ISSTC is the best with price&simplicity / power radio that I have ever seen :)

BTW what about MOSFET drain-source voltage spikes? Did you tried to attach scope there? It kick ass your MOSFET hard but it behaves like zener diode and clamping it - this clamped energy is dissipated as heat of course. I can see you run very short bursts. I guess if you will keep run it for a minute at full power it blows off... This can be solved by class E topology (just add some capacitor) but it would require MOSFET for about 4x Vds rating of power supply which is hard to get...
