Hi all.

Is anyone in the UK or Europe interested in taking this on?

Same rules as before, visual logbook to be kept on 4HV if that's OK to save on weight.
See Link2

if you want to exchange boxes with the US then fine as long as both sides pay their fair share of the postage.
That way no one person is out of pocket.

Also the rules have changed, we can't send anything hazardous. This includes:- ANY Li batteries including coin cells.
Any flammable or toxic chemicals including unfortunately PCB etchants though apparently photosensitive PCBs are fine.
Anything liquid over 100ml so that covers most resins and inks.
Laser devices are questionable but modules are probably OK if they are designed to be externally powered.
CRTs probably not OK due to the weight but small tubes are OK if well wrapped.

It would be useful for the purpose of clearing Customs if a picture was taped to the outside of the box showing its contents.

I have a box here ready to go, haven't had time to categorise the stuff in it but it is certainly stuffed to the gills.

Kind regards,
-A

I've loads of stuff I could put in it.

I suggest we move it around ourselves, rather than relying on the postal services....where possible, of course....The Channel Islands might pose a bit of a problem....unless anyone has the use of a yacht. smile

That's not a bad idea.
The best bet here is to find someone in each country who has a separate area ie a locked shed or similar where angry parents/SO's aren't likely to go skip filling again.

I'll bet no-one on this forum has an 'empty shed' smile ...although there is plenty of stuff in my sheds that I could put in a junkbox.

heh..
Maybe might be worth saving all "the good bits" ie high power resistors, transistors and ferrites?

Also if anyone has any LARGE ie 30W+ Peltiers, I am trying to make a cascade.
Proud Mary/Stella has sent me one and I found three more during the tidy up from dead camping fridgen but the problem is (a) time and (b) the stack needs to be pyramidal.

Thanks, -A
