Hi all,

EVR realeased an Audio Modulator Kit called Xenosonic Link2

Xenoso10

Kit Instructions Manual Link2
Demo video Link2

I would like to know if someone here already built this kit and get some feedback about it.

The kit output voltage is 0-9V and I'm wondering how to interconnect this kit with VTTC's of two kinds:
any examples and schematics are welcomed

  • a classic 811A VTTC like this one Link2

    Vttcre10

  • a classic HFVTTC like this one Link2

    Schema10

Thanks for your help and suggestions :)

Hi PhilGood,

I have had some customers use this kit for VTTCs before.
Basically, they used the output 5V logic pulse from the Xenosonic and used it to drive the SCR which was wired in series with the tube GND connection much like a VTTC staccato controller operates.

For VTTC staccato operation ,please see our VTTC staccato product manual or also look at the work John Freau did (Search GOOGLE) on the same.

Hi EVR,

I think I missunderstood something about your Xenosonic kit

I thought it would be an easy way to add audio modulation to a VTTC, but in fact it converts analog input into logic pulses that can drive any coil, that's not what I'm looking for...

Thanks anyway for the infos and for your quick reply :)

I did talk to one of my customers who uses this with their VTTC. They basically connect a SCR in series with the GND connection on the anode of their tubes and simply use the output of the Xenosonic to audio modulate the tube in this fashion. That seems pretty easy to me, although you would probably have better luck using a MIDI modulator for this application.

Thanks EVR for the additional infos :)

But what I'm actually looking for my VTTC's is analog audio modulation, something like this Link2
