Hi, I think you can, but driving bipolar transistors is a nightmare. You can try some kind of self-excited series resonant circuit like it is done in CFLs, then you basically make a very low power DRSSTC with them.

ATX power supplies would be a good place to look for reference. IIRC they use a type of current mode base drive transformers. I think that sticking with the half bridge topology would be ideal.

I'm afraid that hard switching bipolars will not work at TC frequencies. At 70 kHz it might still do something, but resonant switching should be much better and is easily achievable with bipolars using the self-excited circuit (current mode base drive transformer, with feedback from the output)
