Hi.
I would like to invite any members of the 4HV forum to the Nottingham Gaussfest on the 11th March.

Although the Gaussfest is run as a teslathon, all high power or high voltage electrical gizmos are welcome. (This also explains why Im putting this thread in the chatting section)

More information can be obtained from http://www.roffesoft.co.uk/tesla/gaussfest/ .

Pictures from Last years Gaussfest can be seen Here

If you are thinking of attending please email me at **link** so I can keep a track on numbers and space.

Cheers
Derek

I'm seriously considering going. I just need to find a place to stay for a couple of days somewhere in southern England.

Cheapest you will get is one of the youth hostels, they are all over the place and you don't have to be a member to stay in one (you just pay an extra £3). I'm a member, and I use them quite a bit when I'm going out somewhere and just need somewhere to crash. Have a look on Link2

As for the gaussfest, I might make an appearence myself this time, I've been meaning to go to the past coulpe of UK events, but I've never had much worth showing cheesey Plenty of time to finish some of these incomplete projects though.

Avalanche/Anders,
If you contact me at **link** I can email you a list of local hotels & services.

The nearest YHA is in the center of Nottingham about 5 miles away. (There is a bus service that runs pas the venue)

Hope to see you both...

I shall be turning up certainly with "Stubby", probably with "Titch" and maybe even a small Marx generator (if I get it finished in time).

Looking forward to it as I haven't been to a UK event since Derby 2004! I think I went to the Gaussfest in 2003 when it was the "Nottingham Teslathon" and it was a good hoot then.

Rgds,
James

I would like to come too, but I'm not sure if I can make it. Basically it depends if I can find a cheap flight from Helsinki to Nottingham. I'd really like to meet some 4HVers in real life though!

Woohoo, Gaussfest '06 was my first visit to a teslathon and it was pretty awesome, with some luck I'll be attending this year too. Unfortunately I haven't had chance to fix anything up as yet, but that may change..
I look forward to seeing you all, be sure to bring cameras and earplugs!
Thanks again to Derek for organising this for the coiling crew cheesey
Regards,
Petezel

10'Ish Days to go...

So far we have a good number of coilers, bringing coils both large and small
and both traditional and electronic also a couple of static machines. (electricaly speaking)

Exactly what turns up on the day is of course entirely down to the
attendees, but there has been a lot of interest this year.

If anyone needs any more info about this event or would like to attend.. pm, email me or reply to this post..
