This isn't the guy's fault, I checked and the rules changed back in 2013.
Basically there are no suppliers that can ship Li-Ion, LiPo or LiFePO4 international unless they are installed in equipment, which is not feasible when the device is a sealed assembly such as a £29.95 model helicopter
I've asked if he can fit the cells and send the model back, will update this thread.
This really sucks for the folks that are DIYing their own LiFePO4 packs as Royal Mail don't discriminate between different chemistries even though these cells are nearly impossible to induce into thermal runaway. Maybe this is due to the number of 18650 Li-Ion's fraudulently sold as LiFePO4 to unsuspecting customers ?
