I grew up listening to Wilko. I reccommend that any of you 'the other side of the pond' who aren't familiar with this great guitarist check him out on youtube (give it three songs at least) .

Well, after being given 8 months to live 10 months ago, Wilko was recently quoted as saying "I'm embarressed I'm still alive".
He's still doing guest appearences as and when his health permits.
I actually managed to see him and Norman Watt-Roy last week, playing with Gilad Atzman's 'Ensemble', as part of London Jazz Week at the Queen Elizabeth Hall at the Southbank Centre. Gilad is one of the world's leading jazz saxophonists, and Norman is one of the best electric bass players around.
The photo shows Wilko 'shooting' me with his guitay during 'Everybody's carrying a gun'. There is a version of this with Gilad on sax on youtube, but not particularly good. It was probably the rehearsal for last week. Another, better quality version without Gilad, from Jule Holland's 'Later' show is on youtube, if anyone is interested.
