Hi,
It appears that the wire on one of the ground clips for my oscilloscope probes has snapped internally and thus needs replacing. However I cannot seem to find any replacements available from rigol on their website. They have complete replacement probes available but just not that piece on its own.
Are the ground clips interchangeable between different makes of probes (are they a "standard" size)? Is the bit that clips to the side of the probe the same for all scope probes? As don't want to order replacement clips only to find they don't fit.

Can't solder it? There is metal clip holding to the probe, a wire, and a crocodile-clip. Simply not the most alien technology, and should be fixable given you got some soldering equipment and heat-shrink.

Problem is that its all plastic moulded in place so is not accessible for repair.

I've never seen ground clips sold separately. They're not necessarily interchangeable between makes either. I usually fix them. If there's any moulded plastic I cut it off to get at the wires inside.

Thanks. I was able to cut away at the plastic mould using cutters.
I have just a question regarding heatshrink tubing. Is it possible to use something like a lighter or a hair dryer to get the tubing to shrink? I don't have a heat gun and have never actually used heatshrink before. (sorry for such a trivial question).
