Generally, i've seen them where they press fit the tungsten rods directly into the rotor disk and then use set screws on the outside edge of the rotor for added security.

Check out the two rotary spark gap variants that Terry Blake made about 10 years ago. These work great - i've built the second type for an ASRG gap 10 years ago following his design and it worked great for up to 3kW operation.
Just be sure to put these in shielded (lexan for example) enclosures as if the rods to hit each other, you could have flying tungsten which is very brittle and sharp.

Ok sounds good, I have another question, I have 4 pure tungsten electrodes for me to do the Terry Blake rotary spark gap. But for the propeller peice would it be alright if I just used brass?
