1750 ft? I may be wrong, but, for a hobby/civillian drone isn't that pretty high? Unless of course this aint your average hobbyist.

EDIT: this article was in the detroit free press today (3/7/13) Link2
This happened right by my house back in september a guy went nuts and killed a cop and barricaded himself in his house and ended in nearly a 2 day shootout with police. This is the first I heard that they used a drone to see in the house.

The governments (especially first world) wont be able to control every 15-24 year old, who wants to fly.

Besides, as Krauthammer rightly said, its not individuals who are the problem, its the government. Im wondering with Rand paul's filibuster, if i and others need to be upping drones in defense of the American people (from the US government).

As an American, i cant imagine 8 pounds of RDX flying into a cafe to kill a "supposed" terrroist, instead of using police. (remember Sen. Ted Kenndey was on the federal no fly list, as a terrorist.)

the fact that this even needed a fillibuster scares me; to get an American President to admit he doesnt have the authority to kill americans, whoa! after all (internally, within our borders) we are supposed to believe in police, jury and trials, and the use of the US military is strictly meant for threats beyond our borders.

The process is recurring according to Naomi Wolf:
" Invoke a terrifying internal and external enemy.
Create secret prisons where torture takes place.
Develop a thug caste or paramilitary force not answerable to citizens.
Set up an internal surveillance system.
Harass citizens' groups.
Engage in arbitrary detention and release.
Target key individuals.
Control the press.
Cast criticism as espionage and dissent as treason.
Subvert the rule of law."

However, the new rules are more likely a complete loss of due process a sentence by popular moral opinion. America can no longer be defined as a Republic under the terms of this social contract.

Unless they put people in jail or make someone pay a $1000 ticket for flying one, I'll still fly mine regardless, Everyday, without a care to laws. I'll just set 1K of cash in my pocket waiting :P I fly almost daily so.. Yeah, full FPV System with 2000ft range. There's no stopping me from flying, I enjoy it too much. I live near the country side though, so get lost in a field and say F law xD

If it ever became a law to actually make it illegal to fly a drone, Its just more to add to my list of things to bypass :)

You'd better start thinking about arming your drone, for when 'they' send 'their drones' after it. smile
