Hi. Heads up everyone. Seems there is a problem with some Dell batteries that *may* cause rapid disassembly with flame.

Looks like some Latitude, Inspiron, Precision and XPS batteries are involved in the recall, with manufacture dates from April 1 2004 to July 18 2006

See Dell's website for further information.

Hmm. Collected humour from my buddies.
Buy the New Dell XPS M1710, Includes:- Built in Cigarette Lighter.

Dell. What do you want to Cook Today?

Ever noticed how Dell rhymes with Hell. As in Hellfire.
"I am the God of Hellfire. And I bring you.... AAAUGGGH MY DATA AAAUGH"

Dell. When it absolutely, positively gotta be cooked to a turn.

a dell laptop sir? go large? want fried chips with that?

Would you mind firing up the laptop?
It needs to be warm booted...
smile

Its not Dell's fault, and the recall affects other vendors as well.

As i recall, the batteries were made by Sony.

This is not new and sort of scheduled. My company uses Dell exclusively. We get "Check you battery SN#" emails every 6 months or so.

British long duration astronauts set the computer's chronos to Dell recalls after swaping shifts from cryo naps. "I say, its about that time chap for the recall... Right-O".

yeah, there were some emails at work about it.
I checked the floater laptops at work, now I have 3 of 'em in my cubical.

I was thinking about going throughout the plant pretending to be the 'bad battery collector' and see how many of them I can get. I figure I could probably get about 50 of them.
