Isn't that awesome? I am not much for half-life, but I really am into Portal. It's very geeky and I'm sure a lot of other 4HVers love the game, so I thought I'd post a thread about it.

Someone apparently made a Portal gun IRL, using a blue laser, scanner, accelerometer and a few other bits.
Only catch is that it only works really well on white or cream walls..
(insert video of some 1d!0t running at wall thinking its a real portal and staggering away with a headache here)

Re. orange laser. Don't think so, there are 633nm diodes now but only 100mW or less.

Wonder how hard it would be for Jeri to build a real portal gun now she has all that free time?
