Hi all.
Feel free to add to this. PCB etching brews from Hell, strange compounds that can't possibly work but do, etc.
Latest one is adding silicon to some high temperature superconductors increases the Tc, but only sometimes and with a very very specific formula; see superconductors.org
No idea what gave him that idea, but it seems to work and could be a way to make BSCCO work at higher Jc which could have commercial applications.
I look forward to seeing Joe Eck's name mentioned in the 2014 Nobel listings.
Someone suggested mercury (II)thiocyanate, but thats banned unfortunately.
