I haven't used that particular boundary technique, but it sounds pretty good.
Anyway once you've set up the Kelvin thing, you can copy it, and just modify the previous set up.

Just had a quick play with the periodic boundary technique - and I like it a lot, and will be using it from now on! Slight correction to meshing: you can specify mesh size for edges, but not for points, sorry. FEMM increases mesh density around curves and corners anyway, so not a big deal.
