I'm building a 833 VTTC and I was wondering what would be the best way to go about modulating it for some semi decent audio? I saw on pupman that I can do cathode modulation by using a low voltage transformer in series between the filament and ground. Do I need a special type of transformer or would a normal 110v->12v power transformer work? What kind of audio quality would I get out of a rig like this? I'm open to any suggestions.

Nice job!! The 833 is a triode so I dont have an G2. Would it be possible to put a tetrode(4-125 or 4-400) as a cathode follower to the 833. I could tie the screen to the plate and modulate the grid. Would something like this work?
