Just curios who here plays a musical instruments? Seems as if a lot of engineers and doctors play, just my observation. Maybe it's just what comes with an active left brain.

If you play what do you play? Maybe post some of your work here on this thread.

Personally Iv'e played piano for about 7 years now.

Here is some of my new work with composition: Link2

I used the 4 most used chords in pop music, I tried to give it some new life with more of a classical approach.

I also played bass in a band for a few years. I really enjoyed gigging.

Ha! Dang those are great Steve! will have to find some time and listen to some of the others.

The first couple of songs on that first album remind me a bit of jean michel jarre

From your profile photo it looks like you may also have some experience on the drums tongue

Yes, I actually own a cymbal and 3 drumsticks lol. I spent a lot of time programming drum machines and it made me want to try playing real drums.

Well it's not for everyone, if it's any consolation I've never had a lesson in my life. If you really want to play you usually can go about it yourself and find your own path. The key is practice and consistency.

I've been classically trained in flute, ocarina, and recorder. I also played guitar when I was a teenager. Unfortunately arthritis has taken the musician out of my hands, though music still flows in my mind.

I used to play 12 string guitar a long time ago. (I'm a Leo Kottke fan). When my kids started playing in a band I got myself a strat and occasionally joined them. Now as they left the house I picked up my 12 string again but with my fingers getting old I'm having troubles getting the barres to sound right frown
I feel with you Sigurthr.

I used to play piano when I was much younger, focused mostly on musicals such as Les Miserables and some assorted pieces from Beethoven. I stopped playing shortly after I stopped taking lessons. Always wanted to start back up again, but just seems too daunting to pick back up where I left off. Someday though.

I was starting to look into guitar lessons when I tore a tendon in my left hand, and I haven't bother trying to play anything since.
