I have a problem with Microsoft PS/2 mouse .It doesn't work properly any more. For example ,when I open new window it won't resize it or close it by normal clickin to "x" tab.I have first right click it in order to restore window or open and close task manager .Then ,usually,it starts working normaly. With each new window I open I have to repeat the same procedure.I tryed to reinstall the device and after restarting the computer, windows xp recognized the mouse as new hardware and supplied it's own driver. But problem persisted.I think the the file for mouse control is corrupted. Will downloading new driver for the mouse help? Where to find on the internet appropriate driver for Microsoft PS/2 mouse? Thanks for the advice.

yes, buttons work properly. it must be software problem. i think i found driver windows uses for that mouse on the microsoft page
i think it must be "basic optical mouse" (first under usb & ps/2 listing). the long name of the file is the same as my os showed it was installed for my mouse. i downloaded the driver file ,run and installed it. after restarting computer the problem still persists... EDIT: after 3rd or 4th restart and aprox 2 hours after installing the driver mouse started working ok again!i made sure it wasn't virus/malware etc... but what on earth was wrong with it i really don't know...
