I have a small Flyback driven tesla coil that has been giving me some decent results, but then I decided to upgrade my flyback transformer from one I salvaged out of a computer monitor for one I bought from Information Unlimited (Part#FLYPVM500 - 30kV 20mA Transformer). My new flyback does not have a built-in rectifier so I put 3 series connected 10kv standard recovery diodes on its output. The problem is when I try to power my tesla coil the spark gap runs very slowly, you can hear each individual spark. Is it possible my diodes are too slow?
