The aforementioned have contributed financially to the continuing triumph of 4hv.org. They are deserving of my most heartfelt thanks.
Any other ideas? Lots of SOT packages and larger TO packages. Even some all-metal TO packages. Most (~99%) test out OK for basic on/off. Going to build a test fixture that will put them under more of a load.

I am not too sure what the exact story is. There were a couple 55 gal drums (Gone now) full of these that were brought in by a scrapper. Some are unmarked, some have sharpie marks on them with numbers. Best guess these were production test samples, the company that makes them is a couple hours away.
I got most of a 5 gal bucket of them, a friend bought about 190lbs of them. He does a lot of stuff with motor controls and power control. I figure I will never have to buy another mosfet again.

The square ones with 4 screw holes look nice for high power if you can identify them, most appear to have markings which is good.
If they came from a manufacturer, they may not have met some min spec in the datasheet and were rejected, though they probably will work for most purposes.
Maybe get a few people to help you sort them in to like for like piles, test a few bag fulls of each at a time, so you have some ready to use.

Maybe a small test jig is in order. they may be in a can for a reason. That would be where I would start. A stiff 50-100v power source and a load resistor and a 20v power supply is all you need.
