As for me, I'm trick or treating this year (as Slender Man-I made a little 555 audio circuit to make a high pitched noise). Last year I had out a table full of electronics stuff, and my tiny Jacobs Ladder. It still scared some kids.

My question is, what are you putting outside tonight? If possible, do you have any pictures or videos? I know Eric Goodchild is going to have an interesting setup where he has a MIDIed band with Tesla Coils. Lets see yours!

Built an EL wire glowing skull using CCFL inverter running at half its rated input voltage with a series capacitor.
Only problem is that EL wire does have an upper voltage limit, lets say it was pretty while it lasted <g>

Oh, and a flickering pumpkin with one of those Luxeon red LEDs and a candle LED with transistor buffer.

I just helped with the Halloween setup and supplied some coils. Jeff (aka nixie) set most of the event up. And gongrats because it went off very well. Lots of people showed up and nothing exploded and no one got hurt.

I think you're forgetting about all those weekends you gave up working on the instruments and hardware for the show shades
Random folks are still coming up to me, asking if we'll do it again next year.
Either way it was a real pleasure having you onboard, instrumental in making that Halloween event a success.

Jeff

Setup a large cap and several flash lamps inside the house and near the door. One flash projected a lighting bold on the rear wall.
The real discharge across the gap made it much more realistic in addition to the recording....

Parents were the most amused, kids not so much as it was too sudden and unexpected...
