That pressure is massive, just to give you an idea of scale they calculated that when Krakatoa erupted it was just shy of the figure quoted.
Discuss.
Also, another interesting discovery is that it might be possible to "tap off" energy from an active volcano using the magnetic fields from moving lava underground.
Examining the existing data indicates it could erupt in the next few months, but could be a lot sooner.

That "massive" pressure Mpa is about 16 atmospheres. Roughly twice that you might find in a bike tyre.
