Awesome! Very good sound quality, looks like a lot of fun to play with.
Unfortunately, I'm not smart enough to understand what's going on in this circuit :). What is the purpose of that large metallic bar pointing downwards in the 3rd picture? It looks like a thick copper braid soaked in solder?
Once you get above a few Mhz things start to really take on whole other personalities, especially where layout and reactances are concerned. At 300MHz this plasma tweeter is really quite awesome and truly a feat of engineering!

This is brilliant! I'm struggling to understand the circuit though, I don't think I've seen an oscillator anything like that before, does it have a name?
I can get as far as the gate bias (R1, R2, R4, VD2, C8, C9) and I can see how VT3 and R3 set the power, with the audio coming in through C10. But everything to the left of C6 is just confusing
