the only dangers he'll face are inhalation of bad gasses and cancer from xrays and the like... this isn't impressive to us, but anyone who doesn't know a thing about tesla coils will go crazy about his "endurance"...

I saw this earlier and thought "the only challenge here will be trying to hold off the headache from all of the ozone" and "I wonder if the Tesla coils will be able to run that long without issues".

Here's hoping Blaine lives to tell the tale.
Yes I know, Faraday cage etc. Still, intentionally zapping oneself for days on end isn't exactly very smart considering the ozone issues alone. Not least all that UV is going to give him arc eye rather quickly.
EDIT:- All seems fine so far, no sign of breakdown in the coils.

It says he has eye and breathing and ear protection.
I think the challenge is more psychological than anything else. I think the coil part is trivial. I think it'd be harder without the coils due to sheer boredom and hunger!
EDIT: I'm going to see it, and I'll probably get bored of it in 10 minutes.

Seems like they have the main safety issues pretty well covered. Sounds like it'll be interesting to watch for a little bit and then get very boring.
