Interesting.. Seems that it might also be able to (in pre-oxygenated form) help with serious lung damage normally incompatible with life, i.e. smoke inhalation.
There are also applications for treating patients with severe sharp or blunt force trauma, as haemorragic shock is the main cause of death or serious disability.
