Hi all.
Add to this your most muppety ebay buyer/seller here.
Non payment, broken items, SNAD's, weird conditions after item has been bought/sold such as quadrupling postage, etc.
I had one this week who thought it was funny to charge £28 shipping to the UK for an item weighing under
100 grams, in their defence they did eventually cave in and reduce it.

Please don't add the username, we wouldn't want 4HV to get sueballed.
Just a general description is fine.

Hah, thats pretty bad.

Another one I had is a seller who seemed to view combined postage as something worthy of utter contempt.
Despite me being happy to pay the full postage on each item he *STILL* shipped them separately.
Result:- two lost diodes for a month, as they winged their way through the clutches of HMRC.

And then there were the infamous *o*p 3AH batteries which were barely 1000, despite repeated attempts to contact the seller he wanted me to send the whole lot back at my own expense then refund me minus postage AFTER he received them
Not a snowball's chance in Hades.

I feel lucky to have avoided most of the muppets so far. Probably because I read a lot of the feedback, and only buy from sellers with good ratings. The only exception to that rule is for a fairly unique item, such as the RF spectrum analyser I bought a few years back. Come to think of it, that guy was a bit of a muppet - gave me the wrong bank a/c number (typo) so I had a nervous few days tracking down just where my $2000 had gone! All ended OK though.

Laser accessories are paricularly bad, Ebay can randomly cancel auctions at a whim even if they are for lenses, optics etc.
I had one the other day where I bid on a 1W diode, it got cancelled after bidding frown

Ordered 2x2a tube from American and it somehow got lost in transit to Canada. Seller refunded and I reordered receiving the tube in about 4 weeks. Roughly about 3 month's later, I received the 'lost in transit' tube so I had an extra. cheesey

Though on another note not related to any of the categories Conundrum posted regarding Ebay muppet, but I just had to bring it up because it drives me nuts every time I see it.

offtopic, but in case you plan to use them for x-rays, you should get the russian variant of the 2x2.

I actually ordered a new tube after noticing poor x-ray generation. 6EN4 beam tube and possibly even a real x-ray tube.

Hey guys, has anyone else run into the problem of sellers being evil and not putting the CN21 on?
Seems that they are happy tp pay VAT but without the form it attracts a £12 "fine" even if sent to the Channel Islands.
