i recently went and bought a bunch of these but of a different model, directly from the wholesaler. I am amazed by how awesome they are, however, i have no idea on what kind of transformer they use inside. i really really want to try building my own, problem is its impossible to crack it open and look around inside. i know its some kind of high voltage pulse trigger transformer, but beyond that name, i cant find anything more, certainly not any transformers i can buy anywhere , no part numbers, nothing! not even sure exactly of what they are called.
does anyone know exactly what transformers would be used in these, and where i can find them, or something similar at least?

theyre generally the same type of transformer as used for Xenon flash lamp triggers, (that might be its original purpose) so it'd be a tiny ferrite transformer with less power throuput then a small flyback.
One more specific difference is, that the smaller HV transformers often use a ferrite slug not a true core.

thankyou, i think im on the right track. though, for what im looking for, what kind of specs should this transformer have, ive looked around a bit and am not sure. like is a 6kv transformer fine? or should i be searching for something at around 20-30kv?
