Hey guys just wondering if i need to do anything special when using TC4421 TO220 in parallel? I ask because i have been working on a DRSSTC and to get my gate drive powerful enough i had to parallel the drivers. It worked great until i made a new topload and switched to a larger secondary for a lower frequency. I had great sparks going until i killed 1 of the 4 gate drivers(running 2 sets of 2). So my question is can i just connect the outputs directly together or do i need to add something after each driver and before connecting them together or did the EM from the coil simply take out the 1 driver and the 74hc08 from being to close to the coil. Coil was about 2 feet away from driver board with no shielding and i realize that is an issue all in itself but i was low power testing. 40 volts into a voltage doubler connecting to a fullbridge. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

You can run them in parallel. You could also use the IXYS 30A drivers or IXYS 14A drivers which are in TO-220 packages as well.
For DIP packages, its common to just stack them one on top of each other. Thermal consideration must be taken into account though.

Ok thanks very much i just wasn't sure if i had to do anything special to parallel them up. I'm thinking that the circuitry was to close to the coil and blasted the 74hc08 which in turned caused the issue with the gate driver. Again thanks alot for the help.
