Hi everyone.
This is my biggest and probably most successful project so far, the dual big-sized DRSSTCs, and I bet these are the ugliest (from the view of the electronics layout design) scenic-size Tesla coils you guys have ever seen here :)
The coil pair is known to be the second biggest in Russia (and the second known DRSSTC of that size here at all).

H-bridge: 2x CM300DU-24NFH, 4x EPCOS 400V@6800uF, 2 in series, 2 in parallel, 20uF 800V through-mount EC film caps, per each coil.
Driver: Steve Ward's UD 2.1 rev. b, with UVLO curcuit added (seriously, I have no idea how such a great in other views driver could have no built-in undervoltage lockout), via the OCD triggering.
Interrupter: Steve Ward's MIDI interrupter, adapted to USB->COM usage (frequency changed from default MIDI's to COM port's). Reprogrammed by a friend of mine, much more skilled in microcontrollers.
MMC: 300nF 10kVDC (5-6 kV working voltage with OCD set to 1200-1300A) made from 300x EPCOS B32652 0.1uF 1000VDC each.
Secondary: 25*110 cm.
Topload: 80x20 cm toroid from aluminum ducting.
Secondary frequency ~90 kHz.
Primary has about 4.2 working turns, and inductance of 9.2 uH. The current reaches OCD limit of 1300A in about 6 or 7 periods. Unfortunately I don't have scope shots, forgot to take any. Bridge remains cold (30-36 deg. C maximum) at any working conditions.
Bridge bus capacitor pre-charge circuit is done with a 27 Ohm resistor and a power relay shortening it, triggered by a timer (3 seconds delay).

Never measured total power consumption, but a single coil draws enough to lower the voltage in a wallsocket for 30-40 volts at high BPS, so I won't have a chance to run a paired system simultaneously at my place.

A single coil gives 2 - 2.6 meters spark. With a good supply and OCD tweaking that could be increased to 3+, but that will probably happen with some other project than this.

Fabulous !

almost the first thought that popped into my head :
this is like a 'woofer' to match American/UK 'mid-high range' musical TC.
GREAT !

Please elaborate on the UVLO modification you made to the UD2.1 driver smile
I can't determine by the image whether you are using a zener shunt detect, or an LVR IC in a TO-92 package to clamp the signal.
A little hand scrawled schematic would be great!

I would like to implement this feature as well. I thought about this issue when stuffing the board, and you have already done it.

Thanks, Jeff
