This was the first test of my DRSSTC fullbridge system. My goal wasnt to test for spark length, as much as it was to test coupling. In the past, i had a helical coil. When i did burst mode, it went to hell and flashed over REALLY REALLY badly. The video clearly shows, thats not a problem anymore :) Now im able to run it with music or burstmode, with no flashovers.

So. I never drew over 10A during run, and never went over 100V. My scope never peaked over 300A primary current. Things ran rather smooth. This was also my first time running it in my area outside. Usually its in my room (small tests) or at The Geek Group's High voltage lab for doing such testing. What was origionally going to be a show for my family, my friend's family, and my uncles family, (14 some people) became a test for >30-40 people after a minute of running. Multiple neighbors ran over to see what was going on...Everyone was a good 50 feet away or more, i was the only one actually close to it messing with things.

I do own a 120V to 240V transformer, right now it runs on a 10,000uF voltage doubler of capacitors. I'm wondering how the system would do if i replace that doubler with the transformer, as it even supports 120V to 480V. Max input is 120V 15A. Max output would then be 480V 3.75A. Worth a shot? I hear coils run better at higher voltages. As well as when its not a voltage doubler. Would like some thoughts on this one please :)

What is your DC Voltage input? 380 Volts to your half bridge bricks(in the video)?? What bricks are you using?

And yes, coil are better performing when the voltage input on the bridge is higher. Can you give some specs?

340 volts is what is going into two CM300DU-12NF igbts wired for a fullbridge...

Link2 specs for the old half bridge.
