Just been given a Arduino Mega ADK from someone. Not really sure what I can do with it yet but looks fun!

Anyhow, been the good ole bunch of knowledgable folks you are I wandered could I use it to drive flybacks? Build my first tesla? Not sure if anyone has any good links or not. Anything appreciated.

Right then, back to work salvaging as much as possible from 10 old TVs and monitors. If anyone is from up this way and wants any old TVs or HiFis to salvage from then let me know, I have a few contacts who are more than happy to give them away from there huge stockpiles as they no longer use them for repairs.

Danny.

You can learn from
Link2

Or get a book.

:P the possibilities are almost endless! I guess you might be able to drive a flyback if you generated the waveform and feed it into a v-reg. :P At least its what I think. Not sure. :P

you do realize Arduino is just Atmel's atmega microcontroler?

Atmel has a stellar ASM and C IDE, that is free.
I would never use anything else but that to program Atmel's micros.

IMO the whole Arduino stuff is just re-branding to make some $$.

Cheers for the link.

I agree after reading up, i guess that's how the money is made from the whole open source bit?

I'm sure I'll find a use for it some day, I love free stuff.

I only use the Arduino for 6-channel metering of temperatures (living, outside, kettle, terrarium...) and eventually switch the heater.

Here is a diagram with results:

Actualy Daedronus, arduino is more for getting people into programing, I'm sure for people such as us and others who HAVE programed other things and can understand the syntax's, an arduino is kinda over priced, however for someone just starting an arduino is a bit better not to mention cheaper then the old options with basic stle coding, such as STAMP or PIBasic both of which cost $100 a peice where as an arduino, its $30-60 depending on the model and really you dont even have to buy the board, you could just buy an FTDI chip, an oscilator and a 328p, and something to burn the boatloader onto the chip with and ur set for a lot less then anyof the other chip options (for beginer that is) at least thats my stand.

as for uses with arduino's or rather an atmega328p just about anyhting, I've been leaning towards using one for a quadcopter, others use em for robotics, as patric said metering, I've also got a project for using it to do stuff with lasers, I still wanna make one run a SSTC all the meas=uring calculating and adjusting frequencies but thats another time.
