What is the use of differential amplifiers on a scope inputs ? Does it has only pros or also some cons ? Specs of 5A22N module

Hmm... If I get it right, the - terminal of each channel is not connected to the ground, allowing to plug it anywhere in a circuit, when on a "classic" scope it must be connected to the ground of the circuit you are measuring...
Please confirm, or correct me if I'm wrong.
What I don't get is:
Where are the two external poles of the + and - BNC connectors connected to internally in the scope ?
How a probe for such a module looks like ? It must have 2 BNC connectors ? Or can we just use two classic scope probes without connecting their ground clip ?
Sorry for the noob question, I never studied electronics officially, I learned with books and magasines in the 80'. I then forsook electronics in favor of computer programing. I started getting interested again in electronics last year, mostly on account of high voltage experiments and Tesal Coils. This has left many holes in my knowledge on the matter.Thanks for your understanding and your kind help

The advantage is indeed that you can measure across two points where neither is ground. The ground clip/outside of the BNC is still earth, but now you have two connectors. The output is "+" minus "-".
I'm not aware of any special probes, you can just use two traditional probes. You just have to make sure they're either both on 1x, or both on 10x and the same model probe so as to have identical impedance internally.

One last question: what do I do with the ground clips ? Shall I connect them to the ground of the circuit I'm measuring ? Or can I just leave them unconnected ?
