Hey. Yesterday I finished my kick a*$ zvs driver using tiny 220 fets that pump power without warming on a very small heatsink. My biggest problem is always low voltage power, so I hooked up my 50A 600V diodes(overkill) and ~10000uF of capacitance. Should I mention the 24v mot? Anyways, it was running fine heating the workpiece when all of the sudden the diodes unsoldered themselves from the capacitors because the capacitors got too hot. Almost the same time the lytics blew up...
What do you guys think happened? Too much ripple? Faulty dielectric? When I ran it off a 12v transformer the night before, I heard a little fizzle as if someone put a drop of water on a frying pan. My biggest worry is the ectrolyte. The drops where brownish wheEn on the floor, and a little got on my hand and turned floured and yellow like a highlighter. Almost like ferric chloride or something. That's the biggest thing, so if anyone knows of an electrolyte that fits the bill let me know.
I didn't put this in a question topic cause its not really a problem I need answered.

No problem with the zvs, stone cold there XD. Mosfets are 085n10 from Fairchild (or something like that...) 8.5mOhm max 100v rated. Other than that it's just any old zvs with 1.3uF capacitance on he tank. The power supply was a mot with 24vac giving 34v. Cutting it close with the pi*v rule, but no problems yet. The rectifiers where 50A 600v stealth rectifiers from fairchild(all my stuff is; I trust their products)
Honestly, I agree with Steve. On my next smallest xfmr the ripple is 15v, I estimate the mot was maybe 5, and with the current being drawn: 5A average depending on he load, the ripple current must have been massive.
When I get to it i'll post pics of both the zvs and the aftermath :/
