Hi, Is there a suggested or max spacing between primary coil? mine is .25 inches space gap per turn..
I have a bad experience when once I run this primary coil because my IGBT explodes.. (with known current on my tank and not yet exceeded) I think there is a suggested coil spacing of 0.15 inch?? Does it affect at all???? I ran this on Java tc but I had an explosion following on the parameters suggested... =(

The turn-to-turn voltage insulation is a consideration - but I've not had or heard of a problem due to this,
an'ideal' spacing is one conductor diameter, any less and heating due to 'proximity effect' may be a problem any more and a greater length of winding will be required due to lower inductance, - these are minor considerations, variable 'tapping' arrangements are more important.
If you run the primary without a secondary, or at a frequency different from the secondary, you will probably explode your igbts.
