Can someone explain what is happening on the circuit of the D flip flop on S.wards universal driver? Sorry I am a bit confused in the circuit of synchronization.. THanks in advance,. (please disregard first the OCD sensing feed)

Well there are two flip flops, the one in the OCD circuit is there to make sure that once the OCD is triggered it latches the circuit off until the next rising edge of the interrupter.
The second flip flop is there so that on the final drive cycle it turns off at a zero crossing. This is because when the interrupter shuts off it doesn't know where the current is in the tank so the interrupter could end on a current peak. This would be very bad, so the flip flip when told to shut off delays until the next zero crossing to shut off.
