 		I made something similar last year, but never got around to publishing it. Two modern flyback transformers were placed in series (HV from one to ground on the other) and the primaries were also in series IIRC. The whole thing was placed under oil, otherwise it would have arced over instantly. The transformers were driven by a current controlled driver using the UC3842. I was able to pull 210µA at 44kV with the setup. Never got any good x-rays however.
